Can You Bring A Vape To Russia? Yes: Don't Listen To The News

Intro
Remember the time that American woman Brittney Griner was arrested in Russia for bringing a THC cartridge into Russia? Well, since then, everyone always keeps asking me, "How did you bring your vape to Russia?" and "Is it allowed?" While the answer is simple, let me break it down for you a little bit.
Yes, You Can
Believe it or not, you can bring your vape to Russia, you can smoke pretty much everywhere (bar certain indoor public places), and you can buy vapes in almost every corner of the country. So, if you are stressing out about whether or not you can take on your flight from Istanbul to Moscow, don't stress.
Throughout my nine airport security checks in Moscow, never once was I questioned about any of my vapes. I was talking to a friend, and they mentioned that even if someone does ask, just be honest and say it's nicotine. They might take a look at it, but honestly, they have much bigger fish to fry.

Just a couple of notes for users here:
Do not smoke inside bars/restaurants, and ask before you smoke in the outside seating of a restaurant. Most will say yes, but others may say no.
You can have a vape in the park or on the street; a lot of people do it (especially during the summer)
Do not vape in the airport, unless you are in the smoking room
DO NOT BRING THC PRODUCTS
Russia Is Incredible, If You Follow The Rules
One of the biggest takeaways that I learned from visiting Russia is that if you follow the rules and are not there for any hidden political motive, there are no issues. Coming from the United States, a place where you can literally walk away murder-free if an officer doesn't read you your rights correctly, it doesn't work like that here.
If you do the crime, you will do the time. See, if Griner were arrested in the USA, she might have done a little bit of community service as a statement at the max, but realistically, nothing would have happened. But in Russia, do not break the law.

And to me, I am fine with that. In fact, I think it is much better than this new system we have in place, where someone is still walking out of a courtroom on their fifth DUI. But it's important to keep in mind that in the past 10 years, corruption has really cracked down in Russia. Before, if you were caught speeding or with drugs, you could easily pay off an officer, but it's changed now.
And with that comes safety...
Final Thoughts
Multiple friends of mine have asked whether they could bring their vape to Russia, and the answer is yes. You will have absolutely zero issues, as long as it isn't THC, and you follow the rules and regulations, which are pretty standard across the world. But in all honesty, this sort of sums up Russia as a whole for tourists. The only people that get taken to jail or whatnot are either people who broke the law, or people who were there for political motives...
Don't listen to the media saying you are going to get chucked in a gulag 😂
