Intro
During my one-day transit in Moscow, including breaking up with this girl one hour after arriving from St Petersburg on the Grand Express, I had the opportunity to experience one of the most peaceful experiences throughout my time in Russia: the Floating Bridge.
For those unaware, the floating bridge is a pretty big tourist attraction in Moscow, as it provides sweeping views over the city and the Kremlin, all while being over the river. So without further ado, let me blow your mind with this photo gallery.
Sunrise Walk
The floating bridge is often one of the busiest tourist attractions as the day progresses. Being so close to the Kremlin and Bolshoi, people tend to flock there midafternoon to enjoy these views. However, considering I couldn't sleep, I decided to head out on a 45-minute sunrise walk to this floating bridge.

And it took me a whopping 20 minutes before I was blown away by the architecture. I mean, truly, there is nothing like the architecture of Moscow and SPB.

After navigating the underpasses, getting lost a couple of times, and then finally finding the small park by the floating bridge, I just stood in my tracks. You know those surreal moments where everything just stands still? Yup, that was it. You have incredible buildings to your left, a gorgeous park in front of you, and the Saint Peters Basilica to your right (Kremlin as well).

But then came the issue. There was some sort of Mockba 2030 Expo event going on, meaning that the usual entrance to the floating bridge was closed. So off we went to try and find another way to get on this bridge.

The Floating Bridge
After walking around in circles for a couple of hours, or so it felt, I had finally found the floating bridge. Passing by a security guard, saying hello in Russian (Privet), I had made it onto this platform...

The Walk Back
After spending about 30 minutes just relaxing, I decided to stroll my way back to my hotel, perhaps stopping off on the way at a few places. The thing which I like about Moscow, and you should too, is that the morning is vastly different to the rest of the day. By 8 am, the streets are crowded by businessmen, and by 5 pm it's packed with people drinking, enjoying, and laughing with friends.
So I appreciated this time. A lot.

I kept walking around for a while and ended up back at my hotel around 8 am, which isn't bad at all. I was out for about 3.5 hours eating and walking around. It's funny how active Moscow can make you.
Final Thoughts
If you are spending some time in Moscow, there is one thing that is an absolute must-do. Set your alarm early, and head over to the Floating Bridge for sunrise. It is truly one of the most magical things in the world, practically having the city to yourself, all with some views that will make your mouth water. It might be early, but it is oh so worth it.
