Intro
Throughout my 1 day in Siberia, I decided to do plenty of walking around the second largest city in Krasnojarsk. Interestingly, there is an ongoing debate between residents in Siberia about the capital of Siberia, with the title falling to Novosibirsk, but Krasnojarsk falling short 😅.
Anyway, there isn't much to do in this city during the day, and all that I kept thinking of was, "imagine what this is like in January or February, it must be bloody cold". However, I did explore Main Street, take a brief walk over to the river, and take in some of the sights. Overall, it was a cool place, just very different to the likes of SPB, Kazan, and Moscow.
Night & Day
It's a funny terminology: day & night, and especially funny when you realise that Krasnojarsk has both sides of the coin. After arriving from my flight on board Aeroflot from Moscow, I decided to check into the hotel and spend a little bit of time at the student bars. Granted, it was a Wednesday night, so I wasn't expecting it to be packed, but it was a fun experience.

But, with not much happening at any of the previous bars, I stumbled into one that had a little bit more energy. There happened to be a party of about 10 people, who were drunker than a flock of penguins trying to salsa on waxed ice 😅.
I stayed here for almost 2 hours, where my interaction occurred with either a friendly man or an undercover FSB agent (which I wrote about separately). An interesting interaction that one...

Well under the influence, I headed back to the Ibis to attend my online class from 2-4:30 am, and ended up waking up around 11 am.
Feeling refreshed as if I hadn't gone out last night, it was time to explore Krasnojarsk.

Later on during the day, I decided to go out for lunch to experience the local cuisine: pizza 😅. I wasn't expecting to find any sort of good Western food in Krasnojarsk, so once I received my pizza and beer, I was blown away. Wow. Amazing. And for less than 10 USD!!

Final Thoughts
I had a lovely night and day exploring the second-largest city in Siberia: Krasnojarsk. While it will never be as lively or as large as some of the other major cities in Russia, it has its own charm to it. With friendly people, beautiful architecture, and fantastic light during the summer, I'd happily come back. However, if I could, I would choose to come here on a Friday and Saturday night, as rumour has it, this place is quite the fun on the weekends.
