Intro
Across the world, Lufthansa had long been known for having a lackluster First Class product compared to most carriers, until along came Allegris. Since these new planes have come along, Lufthansa is clearly investing in the longevity of its First Class experience going forward, as reports are coming out about a new soft product onboard.
The Details
Lufthansa has been known for having a fantastic ground experience, a dated first-class product on their older jets, and a mediocre onboard soft product, to say the least. However, somebody recently took a flight from Miami to Frankfurt and shared this experience:
"New amuse-bouche with two different small servings. Caviar service with potato blinis instead of toast, served with a mother-of-pearl spoon. Option to have a smaller main course to try more of the different food offerings. New dessert concept inspired by “café gourmand,” with three smaller servings. New cutlery, plates, and glassware, including different wine glasses to accommodate various wine types. New blanket—seems to be a wool/cashmere blend".

Project Fox
So what is this all about?
Well, going back a little bit, Lufthansa announced at the start of the year that they were planning something called "Project Fox", where the new soft product would get overhauled from tip to tail. Originally, test flights were supposed to be in July and August, but it seems like these have started early.
What do some of the changes look like for First Class?
Lufthansa is trialing out driving people straight from their home to the plane and vice versa, somehow skipping all of the formalities of being in an airport. This would be the closest that one gets to a private jet, without actually being on a private jet.
Expanded menu, as clearly mentioned above.
Mother of Pearl Spoon and potato bilinis in First Class
New amenities such as a cashmere day blanket
It will be interesting to see what comes from these tests and what the airline decides to stick with going forward.
Final Thoughts
Lufthansa has begun Project Fox testing for First Class, as reports have come out on certain routes, such as MIA-FRA and EZE-FRA, of an elevated experience. Considering the airline is going through the process of finally getting new premium cabins (ugh), this will elevate the experience tremendously.
