Intro
If you happen to be loyal to Thai Airways and are a Royal Orchid Plus Silver status, it seems that the airline is giving out a Christmas gift for flyers this month. Honestly, this is quite a smart move from Thai Airways, and another way the airline continues to innovate.
The Details
For the month of December, Thai Airways has a special promotion where those with Royal Orchid Plus Silver Status will be granted access to the Royal Orchid Lounge at Bangkok when departing BKK. There are a couple of terms and conditions that are certainly noteworthy, but here they are:
The complimentary lounge access E-voucher is valid for use at Royal Silk Lounge (Concourse D) or Royal Orchid Lounge (Concourse D and E) when departing from Suvarnabhumi Airport only.
The voucher is valid for one-time use, prior to departure on the flight specified on the voucher.
Members must hold Silver tier status on the date of purchase in order to be eligible for this offer.
Members must provide Royal Orchid Plus membership number at the time of booking.
Only Royal Orchid Plus Silver members who purchase THAI international tickets in Full Flex fare class (Y/B/M booking class codes) and travel within December 2025 are eligible to receive the complimentary lounge access E-voucher.
This privilege is non-transferable and valid only for the member whose name appears on the E-voucher.
Additional terms and conditions apply as stated on the E-voucher.

More Airlines Should Do This
I have to say, when fellow author Alan mentioned this to me earlier today, I was a bit surprised (in a good way). Realistically, it does not cost much money for the airline to give lounge access to a select few customers who are silver and purchase full-fare tickets, if anything at all...
Not only does it incentivize those silver members to push for gold, but those traveling for the holidays will now be able to enjoy a glass of sparkling wine during the festive season when choosing Thai. Numbers bump up around the holidays, and this is just another way that TG can gain more revenue, all in the customers' benefit.

However, I also understand that even if, say, BA were to offer lounge access to Bronze status members, the lounges are already overcrowded during the international bank. So the reality is that Thai has quite a bit of real estate for their lounges in comparison to their J seats, while BA has a larger fleet, more elites, and less space.
But, it's a cool idea what TG is doing, and I think more airlines should take note of this, especially ones with fewer elites...
Final Thoughts
For the month of December, Thai Airways is offering those with Royal Orchid Plus Silver Status lounge access to the Royal Orchid when flying on a full-fare economy ticket. While the conditions are relatively strict, it's nice to see an airline offering a little bonus to passengers, and I wish more airlines would do this...
