Soo.. The Journey To Afghanistan Begins... 🇦🇫
Intro
I've just finished up what needs to be done, and it's time to embark on perhaps the most incredible adventure I have ever taken in my life. As I sit in the Polaris Lounge at LAX, a lot of emotions and ambiguity come to mind. With no way confirmed of how to get to Kabul due to the closure of the Torkham border, and unsure as to whether I can still get a visa to Afghanistan in Peshawar, a couple of nerves fill my body.
So: What Is The Plan?
While I have spoken about the plan a couple of different times, some plans have changed over the past few weeks. The first steps are relatively simple I hope:
A day in Hong Kong while having some drinks with a good friend
That evening fly Air China to Beijing
The next morning, see my 7th world wonder
In the afternoon, head off on the Air China A330 in Business Class to Islamabad
That night drive to Peshawar

From Peshawar is where it gets a little bit more complicated
Sometime after the 22nd (I don't want to share the exact dates obviously), these are my plans for the rest of the trip:
Kempinski One Night Stay in Mahe
3 nights at Four Seasons Desroches Island
Emirates First Class to Antananarivo
6 day tour around Madagascar
Ethiopian economy TNR-ADD
Ethiopian A35K Business ADD-LHR
AC 787-9 Business LHR-YUL
AC A330-300 Business YUL-LAX

But still, the question remains: how am I supposed to get from Peshawar to Kabul and get my Afghanistan Visa? From someone on the ground in Afghanistan, they have informed me that the quickest way to get a visa to Afghanistan is through the consulate in Peshawar, in which it can take 20-30 minutes compared to 1-2 days in Dubai...
From Peshawar, I was thinking this:
Get my visa in Peshawar
Fly SereneAir to Dubai (SHJ) in economy
KAM Air Business Class to Kabul
Fly Dubai economy back to Dubai
While this obviously isn't ideal whatsoever, the Torkham border has been closed for 22 days, and I am unsure as to when it will re-open. If for some reason I am unable to get a visa to Afghanistan, I was thinking about heading to Iraq instead. While I have been so excited about my visit to the country, I understand that situations around the world constantly change, and things just happen. Here is to hoping and praying it all works out 💪.
Keeping Up To Date
I constantly try my best to keep up to date with this blog through my adventures and reviews from the past. Currently, we have just landed in Taipei after an interesting flight with EVA Air. I will attempt to keep up to date on this series, but a lot of what I am doing in the first week of this trip won't be around stable and fast wifi.
However, one of my main priorities will be live blogging this trip to Afghanistan and through Pakistan to provide real-time (somewhat might be delayed by a day or two due to safety reasons) updates of the on-the-ground situation.
Final Thoughts
So, the next adventure is beginning tonight, as I embark on a 16-hour flight West over to Hong Kong. Perhaps this is my boldest adventure yet, as I will be traversing across Pakistan, attempting to find a way into Afghanistan. Once I am inside Afghanistan, everything has already been set up by a lovely man, it's just finding
