Emirates First Class: Surprise My Mum?
Intro
As I wrote about in a separate post, I'll be heading off on a mother-and-son trip to The Four Seasons, Desroches Island, and Madagascar. Well, two seats just opened up on Emirates First Class from Mahe over to Antananarivo, and I booked them. Should I suprise my mum or tell her upfront?
I'm Unsure
Surprises have never been a big thing in my family, to the point where everyone knows what they are getting for Christmas the year before. For some odd reason, we cannot for the life of us keep a suprise. However, when it comes to my mum, I have surprised her a couple of times, and she loves it.
So here is my dilemma. My mum has never flown an Asia Carrier in First Class (minus SQ Suites, but she was horribly sick the whole flight), so this will be her first time in a proper first class. She's a busy person, so this might give her something to look forward to since she loves flying as much as I do.
However, on the other hand, I sort of don't want to tell her so that I can see the look on her face when we get told to board with First Class.

But how would it play out? Here is my thinking:
When we go to check in, I write a slip in my passport informing the staff to not say anything about being First Class as it is a surprise.
I take both passports and just say, "I want to make this a seamless experience"
When we get to the lounge in Mahe, I could say, "Emirates just launched a partnership where 1K members of United can get lounge access"
Upon boarding, I would do the same stunt as the lounge.
Now, I am not 100% sure if it will work, and thus, I am not sure which avenue to take. If it were up to you, I would be curious about what you would do.
Final Thoughts
I stumbled across two first-class seats from the Seychelles to Madagascar today and immediately booked each ticket for 22.5K Emirates Miles 110$ in taxes. Now I am not sure whether to tell my mum so she has something more to look forward to or suprise her.
What would you do?
