Review: Park Hyatt Paris-Vendome Hotel
Intro
The Park Hyatt Paris-Vendome hotel is a bucket list item for those who love redeeming points. There are few city hotels as expensive as the Park Hyatt that can be redeemed with points, and when the opportunity came around for a one-night stay in Paris, I had no choice but to try it out.
Well, how is the infamous points hotel? I certainly enjoyed my stay here. Considering this one night stay only came out to 45,000 points, I feel like it was worth it. However, it’s a very expensive property once inside, and the rooms feel a bit dated.
Location+Prices
If there is one aspect where the Park Hyatt shines, it is the location. Located minutes away from Opera Garnier and Place Vendome, this wonderful palace is located right on 5 rue de la Paix. During my one-night stay, it happened to be the back end of Paris Fashion Week, meaning Paparazzi and celebrities filled the common areas outside. It’s a pretty hard spot to miss.

In terms of pricing, this hotel is up there with some of the more expensive hotels in Paris. A nightly stay in the off seasons sets you back about 1263$ per night, while during peak travel periods, one can expect to spend well over 2000$ per night for an entry-level room.
However, for those who love points, you can redeem anywhere from 35,000-45,000 Hyatt points per night, depending on whether it is peak or off-peak season. Nightly rates for my stay sat at around 2200, so I ended up using 45,000 points per night. Not bad!
Rooms
The rooms aspect certainly isn’t what makes this hotel special. However, upon entering the room, there were a couple of small details that really stood out to me. For starters, the entry-level rooms are very basic but with a Parisian feel to them. From the colors of the furniture to the gorgeous bathroom featuring a deep soaking tub to the beautiful white and golden bathrobes, there was a sense of prestige.

Additionally, upon arriving in the room, I was extremely happy to find a little note card from the staff informing me to enjoy my stay. Some macarons were left as a present as well. This summed up the service at the Park Hyatt: exceptional. If you need anything or want, you could head downstairs and talk to the front desk or concierge, and they would be happy to assist.

Around The Hotel
The hotel in itself is the most beautiful aspect of staying here. Everywhere outside of the room is bursting with Parisian influence. You can tell that the company has invested a lot into making this hotel a main influence in Parisian accommodation. The hallways are what stood out to me; they were modern but chic.

Amenities
Before I begin on this section, keep in mind that this hotel is located in downtown Paris…
The amenities at this property are a decent selection. Customers will be happy to find that there is a 24/7 operation and a large one that features plenty of machines as well as actual weights.
Additionally, there is a steam/sauna room and a hot tub open from 6 am to 10 pm daily. This is free for customers, but if you are looking to upgrade your day of pampering, there are spa treatments available at a hefty cost. Once again, you are staying at the Park Hyatt in Paris…

Of course, free wifi was offered for hotel guests…
Dining
Dining is a large part of the French culture, and for good reason. French food is not only incredible, but it’s much more of an experience than dining in the West (don’t even get me started).
There are a couple of different dining options at the Park Hyatt. You have the following:
Cafe Jeanne
Terrasse du Park par Jean-François Rouquette
While the menus remain relatively the same, one is inside, and the other one is outside.

I didn’t get the chance to dine at the Park Hyatt since I went out for lunch and dinner but to put things into perspective, a full breakfast costs 51 USD, a pizza is around 25 USD, and the espresso martini I got at the bar came out to a whopping 29$.
I’ve stayed at my fair share of resorts that are in the top 50 in the world, but after traveling Africa for a month, this was a huge “welcome back to reality” check. 😅
Final Thoughts
The Park Hyatt in Paris is an amazing way to spend Hyatt Points. While the interior of the rooms are a bit dated and the pricing for food/drink is relatively expensive, the service, the ambiance, and the amenities made for an exceptional stay. However, if I were paying out of pocket with cash, I might look towards the Cheval Blanc, the Mandarin Oriental, or the Grand Hotel du Palais Royal. Once again, it’s always personal preference; these are just the hotels I have had great stays in as well!
