New Visa Prices For Syria's Land Border In 2025

Intro

Ever since the Assad Regime fell in December 2024, and a new government has gained control, those looking to visit Syria have been able to do so for free when arriving via land border. Well, I recently had a friend visit all over Syria, and she sent me the list of the new requirements. Needless to say, it’s cheaper than before, but still very costly.

The Details

Starting July 6th, those looking to visit Syria and cross via land will have to pay the following fees for a visa on arrival:

Now, there are a couple of things that really stand out to me here.

  • The United States is only a 100$ fee for a visit of up to 15 days. Considering how challenging it used to be to get a visa, this isn’t actually a bad price at all.

  • Iran. Not to get political but there have been some tensions between the new government and Iran. It’s nice to see that Syria is allowing Iranian citizens in, albeit at a very high price point. 800$ for a six-month entry is properly expensive.

  • The other country that stood out to me was Canada, which was only 50 USD for a visa. I would’ve expected it to fall into the 100$ category with the United States, but I guess that is a good thing!

This Was Bound To Happen…

For those who have visited Syria sometime in the last 6 months, you know that the country is currently in a rebuilding mode and is hopeful for change going forward. While they were trying to attract tourists with no visa fees, the country is now booming with tourism. Thus, it makes sense that Syria has decided to implement visa fees going forward.

Syria truly is a beautiful place, and I cannot recommend visiting enough. I’ll have my posts up about Syria soon, but for now, here are a couple of pics around Damascus!

Final Thoughts

Those looking to visit Syria in 2025 via land border will now have to pay for a visa. After 6 months of no fees, it makes sense that the new Syrian government is implementing this change with the tourism rates on the climb. Considering how difficult it used to be to visit Syria, this is still a huge win for tourists.
