LOT Polish Airlines Lounge Chicago (ORD): Amazing!!
Intro
As I previously wrote about, I am currently on my way to Rio De Janeiro and decided to connect through Chicago due to plus points availability. Well, considering I was in ORD and the Polaris Lounge was closed, I figured I would check out the brand spanking new LOT Lounge in Terminal 5.
My oh my, LOT you have outdone yourself with this lounge. It’s wild to think that their lounge is shambolic in Warsaw, yet the airline might have one of the best business class lounges in the US, minus the US3 carriers. From a vodka tasting menu, a huge shower, friendly staff, and good food, what more could you want?
Access+ Location
Finding the lounge is pretty easy. Heading into Terminal 5, I had no idea where I was going but decided to hit a left after security. Inbetween Gates M17 and M18 is where the LOT Lounge is located, and it’s pretty hard to miss with the gorgeous exterior.

In terms of accees, you either have to be flying on a same day Business Class ticket with Star Alliance, or be Star Alliance Gold. Thankfully, this isn’t a priority pass lounge 😉.
Seating
Few times in my life have I been mesmorized when walking into a lounge, but the LOT lounge is one of them. Honestly, this place is jawdropping. The ambiance is perfect, the seats are modern, and the tarmac views. Hold up; I’ll get to that in a bit 😅.

Really incredible LOT.
Okay but back to the tarmac views. The LOT Lounge is perfectly located to watch planes takeoff or land (depending on the daily pattern). In addition, there are many aircraft that taxi by that make for fantastic plane watching.

Food+Drink
Let's start with the food as the bar is on a whole other level. Located in the back of the lounge is where you find the buffet. It's stocked up pretty well and the quality of food is superb. The chicken that I had was moist and flavorful, nothing like the horrific food I experienced at the United Club prior.

If you drink alcohol, this is a place where you will be in heaven. Not only does the LOT lounge feature incredible hand crafted drinks, but they have a vodka tasting menu in which they flavor the vodka with certain aromas. WOW!

If you don't drink alcohol, they have soft drinks, coffee, and infused water available around the lounge.
Restrooms+Showers
The shower situation at Chicago lounges is diabolical. However, LOT offers passengers a single shower suite featuring lovely amenities, and a cozy towels. See the front desk staff to access it.

Additionally, there are bathrooms available for passengers.

Other Aspects
Aside from the free WIFI, I was happy to find three small pods in a more "private area" that looked perfect for napping. If you come in the morning, I am sure you will have no problem gaining access to these "pods".

Final Thoughts
While I will have a full review of the lounge in the coming months, I wanted to share my first impressions on one of my new favorite lounges in the US (outside of the US3 carriers). If you happen to be dropping by Chicago, I highly recommend heading to this lounge. Just keep in mind that if you are in Terminal 1,2,3, you cannot head over to T5 using the airside transfer. However, you can on the return.
