I Graduated College: Sort Of

Intro

Hello from London, as I have just embarked on yet another adventure to what is perhaps the most dangerous country to be in at the moment: Yemen!

Well, on Thursday (2 days ago), I took my last ever final in a full proper semester and graduated per se. It was perhaps my longest semester yet, taking 18 credits, but it was worthwhile to be one step closer.

How Did I Graduate?

For most people, and rightfully so, graduation is a big ordeal. For my family, it was, for my friends it is, but to me it isn’t. Walking across a stage is just walking across a stage for me, and nothing more. Sure, it’s a cool idea to represent everything you have accomplished, but kicking it in Yemen with a bunch of bros repping AKs sounds more like a blast (pun intended) to me.

However, it’s also less of a big deal to me as I still have to take 10 credits to fully graduate. Depending on the school, you technically are eligible for graduation if you have under 12 credits left, not sure entirely why, but it is what it is. So this means that I have to head back this summer to California to finish up what needs to be done. Honestly, I am doing it all during summer since I just want to be done, and I am paying my rent over summer anyway (which is really expensive in Newport).

What Did I Get Up To?

Usually, I tend to be quite good about posting when it comes to this blog, but the last few days have been nothing short of a blast. Finals, going out until 10 am the next morning with a bunch of friends. It was one last big HOORAH! It was a lot of fun, but I felt (and sort of still feel) like a truck has hit me 😅.

It was good fun, and that is what matters. Anyways, I just wanted to touch base as this is a huge milestone for me. I’ll post about my trip to Yemen in a bit, but I am already two flights in and it is a hot mess. Screaming babies, entitled passengers and a colossal f**k up. Welcome to the next African series (Djibouti first)

Cheers to that 🥂.
