Intro
Well, this is exciting news! American Airlines has just announced that their brand new Flagship Lounge in Philadelphia will be opening on May 22nd, in two days! This is a huge development for those flying business class through there, as honestly, this lounge looks stunning.
The Details
As of May 22nd, American Airlines will be opening its latest Flagship Lounge, with the previous ones entailing New York (Greenwich), Miami, Los Angeles, Dallas, and Chicago. This lounge is not only supposed to be the staple piece of the Flagship Lounges, featuring an actual serviced bar, modern upholstery, and a la carte dining through QR codes, but it is also supposed to pave the way for the future Flagship Lounges.

Let's be honest, this certainly doesn't compare to the likes of the Delta One Lounge in New York or the Polaris Lounge in Los Angeles, but this is a completely acceptable Flagship Lounge experience.
Spanning over 13,000 feet, those who are eligible for entry (long-haul J/F passengers, as well as Oneworld Emerald/Sapphire on eligible routes) will be in for a treat of amenities such as six state-of-the-art shower suites, an inspired candy bar, specialty cocktails, and grab-and-go snacks.
I've gotta say: I am excited to go!
Final Thoughts
American Airlines is set to open its brand new Flagship Lounge in Philadelphia in a couple of days, and it looks absolutely stunning. Unlike all of their other lounges, this one will come with a staffed bar, a la carte dining, and plenty of niche amenities which are not usually found in the other lounges. Could this be the start of a new "premium" American Airlines experience?
Probably not, but one can wish 😅.
