Intro
On January 31st, TAAG Angola marked an important milestone for the future of the airline, after the airline took delivery of the first plane geared toward the next generation of their long-haul fleet: The 787-9. The airline currently only has one 787-9 at the moment, with one more -9 on order, and 2 -10s to be delivered soon.
Anyway, I figured that I would make a post helping you out about where TAAG flies this brand new jet!
The Details
At the moment, TAAG Angola operates only three long-haul destinations, including Lisbon (2x daily), Sao Paulo (4x weekly), and Porto (4 flights per year). With a current long-haul fleet of 4 active 777-300 ERs and 1 787-9, this is quite a thin network.
Well, if you happen to be flying from Sao Paulo to Luanda, you are in luck, as TAAG has scheduled almost all 4 weekly frequencies with the 787-9 going forward. The flight operates 4x weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, with the following schedule:
DT747: Luanda to Sao Paulo departing at 10:35 and arriving at 15:05
DT748: Sao Paulo to Luanda departing at 16:05 and arriving at 06:40 (+1 day)

For reference, FlightAware shows that this route is operated by a 777-300ER, but Flightradar confirms that D2-TEQ has flown this route every time it has operated in the past few weeks, and only this route.
Why The 787 Is An Upgrade
TAAG Angola has been working hard to modernize its fleet. Previously, their fleet consisted of some dated 737s, as well as 777s, but with the addition of this 787 and A220, their new cabins are stunning.
From a 2-3-2 configuration in business, to this:

So yes, there is no First Class on the 787s, unlike the 777s, but with much more modern business class, a brand-new premium economy, and beautiful economy seats, the experience will be much better on the 787-9.
Final Thoughts
If you have been wanting to try out the brand new TAAG Angola 787, you are in luck. Currently, the solo 787-9 is serving the 4x weekly rotation from Luanda to Sao Paulo, and fares seem quite reasonable. It is easy to come across a ticket for well under a thousand dollars in business class, and south of 500 in economy. I'll be reviewing this product, but not for another year, sadly...
