Intro
Earlier last week, I wrote about how an Emirates plane and crew happened to be stuck on the ground in Tehran after Israel launched attacks into Iran once the 777-300ER had already landed. Well, there is a positive update...
Emirates Crew Has Returned
I have been following some chatter online, and it seems that Emirates has managed to get its crew out of Tehran, amid the current escalations. While the plane is currently still on the ground, and could be there for a very long time, this is fantastic news that the crew has gotten out. Below is what I have read, and these are from unconfirmed sources:
As far as I’m aware, Emirates sent a plane to Baku, Azerbaijan to get them. Yesterday they arrived back to Dubai.
Emirates has officially confirmed that the whole crew is back safely and unharmed. While this must have been quite scary for the crew, I am sure they are happy to be home...

How Did They Get To Baku?
In my earlier post about this situation, I originally thought that the crew taking a boat to the North might be the safest method.
"there has to be some evacuation plan that the airline is arranging (not that I think it will). Perhaps by boat to the North?"
But I am curious: with airspace closure, did the crew have to go on the long journey to Baku by boat? If so, was it a ferry? Was it a private charter? Was it a private plane? More likely, they took a car, but any insight into this would be greatly appreciated. At this moment, we only have the official statement from Emirates saying that the crew is back.
I have so many questions... and very few answers...
Final Thoughts
Last week, an Emirates 777-300 ER and the crew became stranded in Tehran after Israel began launching missiles at Iran once the plane had landed. According to reports online, the crew has thankfully made it out safely. How? Apparently from Baku, although I am not sure they got there...
