Intro
United Airlines has long been building up there base at Denver International Airport, flying to the likes fo Tokyo, London, and Frankfurt, but there seems to be a new long-haul destination that they launched this week: Rome!
The Details
As of Thursday, May 1st, 2025, United Airlines now flies nonstop from Denver to Rome daily on a 787-9. Operating seasonally, May-June, passengers will be on the beautiful Dreamliner featuring 48 Polaris seats, 21 Premium Plus seats, and 188 economy seats.
The schedule for this route is as follows:
UA177: Denver-Rome departing 17:50 and arriving at 12:20(+1 day)
UA178: Rome-Denver departing at 14:20 and arriving at 17:45

For those looking to get away to Italy in an ever-expanding market this summer, this is a perfect way to do so if you live in Denver!
My Thoughts
Seeing as Italy does extremely well during the summer months, I decided to take a look at the load factors for the upcoming month (which isn't even peak season). It seems that the airline is already doing well on this route, as seats are selling!
In all honesty, this isn't really that surprising since not only can you dominate the Denver-Italy market, but you can dominate the market from those coming from Southern California (instead of flying through SFO).
It's an extremely smart addition by United, and I would expect to see this routing come back soon.
Final Thoughts
A couple of days ago, United initiated non-stop service from Denver to Rome utilizing a 787-9. While this route will only be seasonal, it seems to be doing well for the month of May, and I would expect to see this route improve come June/July/August.
Now all we need is a Polaris Lounge in Denver...
