United Resuming Tel Aviv Service March 2025

Konrad Tillman

Intro

United Airlines, the largest airline in the world by fleet size, has just come out with an announcement and I am extremely excited. A while ago, we saw plenty of airlines temporarily suspend service to Tel Aviv due to the ongoing conflict in the subsection of the Middle East. While El Al continued to operate (and now Arkia), US airlines have been hesitant to resume service on this high-yield route.

Well, United Airlines has just announced that it will be bringing back this route.

The Details

With the ceasefire coming into effect with the ongoing conflict, United has made the decision to resume service from Newark (EWR) to Tel Aviv as of March 15th, 2025. However, as of March 29th, United will be adding a second daily flight between the two cities, probably due to how well the performance has been in the past on this route. The schedules are as follows:

UA84: Newark-Tel Aviv leaving 3:55 PM arriving 8:20 AM (+1 day)

UA85: Tel Aviv-Newark leaving 10:30 AM arriving 4:35 PM

The second daily service as of March 29th:

UA90: Newark-Tel Aviv leaving 10:45 PM arriving 4:20 PM (+1 day)

UA91: Tel Aviv to Newark leaving 11:25 PM arriving 4:15 AM (+1 day)

United Airlines will be using a Boeing 787-10 for both of the frequencies, featuring 44 business class seats in a 1-2-1 configuration, 21 premium economy seats in a 2-3-2 configuration, and 253 economy seats in a 3-3-3 configuration.

Interestingly, United plans to add quite a few more flights to Israel, as they previously used to operate flights from Chicago (ORD), San Francisco (SFO), and Washington (IAD) to Tel Aviv. Considering these flights used to be some of United's most profitable routes, it's not a surprise that they would look to bring these routes back.

Impressive stuff United Airlines!

Final Thoughts

Looking back a couple of years, United Airlines used to be the largest US carrier in Israel. Now that there has been a ceasefire with the ongoing conflict, it's not a suprise that United Airlines has announced it will be bringing back daily service as of March 15th from Newark to Tel Aviv and a second daily frequency as of March 29th.
