The Best Good Morning Text In The World😉
Intro
The majority of the people in the world would disagree with what I am about to say, but there might be a few who do agree.
I have plenty of upcoming trips on the Horizon to the likes of Sudan, Madagascar, Seychelles, and more, but the one I am most excited about is Carnival in Rio. Considering I have all of these plus points from being 1K, I figured, why don't I try and put them to use? Well, when I woke up this morning, I was in for a pleasant surprise.
Good Morning To You, Too!
When I have an upcoming trip in anything but Business or First Class, I check 1-2x per day to see if there is any way to switch or upgrade my ticket. I mean, it takes 1-2 minutes, and if it's not available, it's not available.
Moving on, this morning, I woke up ready to go to class and did my routine checks. Originally, I was booked on LAX-IAD-GRU, so I first checked if there was any PZ space on that leg. Nope! Studying from the past few days, I believed that the first flight that would open up PZ space would be the Chicago (ORD) flight, but I still thought that 21 days was still too far out.
To my surprise, I found this!
Immediately, I called up the 1K line, who was happy to book me into W fare leaving LAX-ORD-GRU, and applied the 40 plus points. Within 2 minutes, I had a confirmed seat in business, a waitlisted first class LAX-ORD leg, and a 101$ credit for a future flight.
So yes, to me, there are few better things than realizing I am about to have a party flight on the way to the carnival. Here's to hoping I get on the plane, and for that, here is to hoping I get on the plane out of Rio on Sunday night (my gosh, I was able to find SWU space on that leg as well).
Interestingly, the 787-10 is the only product of United that I have yet to review in Business Class (well, reviews of the rest are coming soon), so this is perfect. If you are interested in reading more about other Polaris flights, I'll link them here!

Final Thoughts
A lot of people say that Plus Points are useless as a 1K. While I can see their point if you are solely flying when everyone else is flying, if you have a bit of flexibility, you can find ways to save thousands of dollars on flights. I mean, 600$ in business one-way to Sao Paulo is exceptional, and that is all thanks to Plus Points.
