Ridiculous: United Airlines Sued For Selling Window Seats Without 'Windows"

Intro

In the United States, we frequently see many lawsuits in regards to matters that are quite small. While I agree that airlines need to do better and be more transparent, this is one of the most ridiculous class-action lawsuits I have heard about in recent memory...

The Details

Based out of California, details have now emerged of a new class-action lawsuit being filed against United Airlines. The core basis of this class action is to target the airline for selling a window seat to consumers without providing a window at the seat. Those in California who have 'suffered' from this in the past 4 years are eligible for recourse.

Supposedly, this is how it is described:

"Now, a class action lawsuit alleges that United Airlines misled customers by selling “window seats” that did not actually have windows. Plaintiffs claim this practice may violate airline passenger rights and may constitute false advertising, and they are seeking compensation."
Certain seats on airlines don't feature a window, even if you book one...

This Is Ridiculous...

Look, I am for one with airlines being transparent, especially in a day when they are trying to milk passengers in every regard to gain more profit. However, what this class-action really shows is not just about the fact that one passenger per flight didn't have a window, but we try and milk everything in the US for profit...

Sure, I do think United should simply label on the seatmap like Ryanair, saying, "this seat does not have a window", but if you are paying 40$ for a seat, you can simply look up what the seatmap is like on Aerolopa.

With this kind of thinking, I could claim that multiple airlines in business class in the last row only have 1 window, which is quite far forward, and due to having to stretch my neck forward, I have suffered... I mean, frankly, it is utterly absurd.

So yes, I think airlines should be more forthright, 100%, but this is over the top... Legal action in the USA is rarely about fixing wrongs, but profiting off of them...

Final Thoughts

United Airlines is currently in the process of being sued for, wait for it, selling window seats that don't actually have any windows. While I agree on the one hand that people airlines need to be held accountable, and also need to be more forthright, this is simply ludicrous.
