Recommendation: Top 3 Places For A Honeymoon
Intro
During the course of my travels, I have met some lovely couples on their honeymoons exploring parts of the world that most people don’t. Now, while I am not married nor in a relationship, I wanted to share my recommendations of where I would take someone on a honeymoon if it was that time…
Of course, these are all subjective, depending on the person, and in no particular order. I am not the type of person who would say let’s go to the Maldives or Bora Bora. To me, it’s boring when everyone has already done that.
Number 1: Amanyara
Probably the nicest resort in the Western Hemisphere happens to be a short flight away from Miami and New York. Amanyara is one of the few Amans in the Western Hemisphere, with the others being in New York, Jackson Hole, and Utah. However, this is a place where dreams quite literally come to life. At a mouthwatering pricepoint of over 2600$ per night, you’ll have the opportunity to be in full relaxation mode. White sandy beaches fill the coastline; impeccable service lies within the property and amenities like none other. From the second you land, you are whisked away to a paradise like none other.

On a personal note, I have thoroughly enjoyed both of my stays at Amanyara. You can tell it is a proper nice property when you happen to stumble upon Pharell Williams taking tennis lessons or Billie Eilish waiting for a golf cart (funny story that). The Aman is in a league of its own, and if you live in the US, this is the perfect 1-2 week getaway.
Number 2: South Eastern Africa
There is a reason why I am not solely putting a single hotel for this, as people have different priorities in what they want to do. In my humble opinion, the most beautiful place in the world is South Eastern Africa, whether that be those looking for a first time trip to Africa in Kenya, or those looking to explore more of a beach holiday in Mozambique, it is all exceptional.

With that being said, here are my recommendations from the region:
Mozambique: there are some amazing resorts suitable for a lot of price ranges. Anantara Bazaruto is a fantastic mid-level price point, while andBeyond is a surreal property starting at over 5K per night.
Kenya/Tanzania: Both of these locations are the perfect gateway into exploring Africa. From safaris to living with tribes to 5-star resorts, there is something for any type of traveler to do.
Rwanda/Uganda: no matter which of the two locations above you choose, I’d highly recommend tacking on an additional few days to see the gorillas in Rwanda/Uganda. It’s an experience you’ll never forget.
Number 3: Nepal and Bhutan
If an adventure honeymoon is on your mind, look no further than these two countries. With one-stop flights from the US to both of these locations, these countries are like none other. Filled with beautiful mountains, friendly people, great food, and fantastic activities, I personally wish I could be back there right now.
Bhutan: This country is special. Getting a visa is also special in its own 😅. My guess is that if you are on your honeymoon, you are looking to splurge. Check out the Six Senses or Amankora, as these are by far the top hotels in the region.
Nepal: This is a country where you have to find what is best for you. There are so many small but quaint towns you can explore, to the point where you can spend a year there and probably not even cover half. I stayed in a lovely Airbnb on top of a mountain in Pokhara that blew me away views wise.

Final Thoughts
If a honeymoon is on your mind, or perhaps an exploratory relaxation with a significant other is on the table, look no further than the list I’ve provided above. I am not someone who gets commision from these places, I simply want to showcase everyone how beautiful this world can be. In my opinion, the traditional “I am going to use points to fly Q-Suites to the Maldives and sit over the water in a bungalow” isn’t for me. There is a whole world out there filled with friendly people and locations that will blow your mind.
The only reason I put in Amanyara is that I feel people need options for a beach vacation that aren’t the Maldives or Bora Bora. This is a great compromise for those who don’t have a lot of time and just simply want to sit on the beach (as much as it isn’t my thing).
