Quick Review: Marhaba Lounge Singapore Changi Terminal 3 Garuda Indonesia
Intro
With my Air Asia flight arriving slightly early from Denpasar, I was able to access the lounge that Garuda Indonesia uses for business class passengers departing from Singapore to Jakarta/Bali.
The Marhaba lounge is certainly a bit of a letdown for a carrier of Garuda Indonesia. On the one hand, the lounge is modern and offers a decent amount of seating with good-quality wine. However, the food selection is subpar, to say the least, and the lounge doesn't feature showers, which is a major letdown.
Location+ Access
The Marhaba Lounge in Singapore Terminal 3 is a little bit of a challenge to find, and it ended up taking me a few minutes and multiple times of asking different people😂.
Head up the stairs just past the transfer desk, and it will be at the end of the food court. At least, the food court pictures in this photo.
The entrance will have the small Marhaba lounge sign on the outside and staff at the front.
In terms of access, Marhaba Lounge partners with certain airlines to allow access to those in business class. Information isn't exactly present on all of the airlines given access, but this is where Garuda Indonesia passengers are directed.
The lounge is also accessible to those who have a priority pass membership. Alternatively, day passes are sold for around 30$, I believe. Something to note is that online it mentions that there is a maximum visitation of 3 hours, but I am not sure how enforced that is.
Seating
Upon entering the lounge, there is a small area on the right for seating. This area remained the quietest of the few areas throughout my hour there. The lounge is beautifully decorated with a nice, modern color scheme.
Expect to find USB ports on most of the seats, but especially on the high-top tables.
Following along from the hightops, as I mentioned previously, the lounge is small and quaint. Unfortunately, there were too many people in the other part of the lounge to get proper pictures.
This is a picture stolen from the internet😂 of the remaining part of the lounge.
Food+Drink
Smack bang in the middle of the lounge consists of a small station with food and drink. The options were limited but certainly better than some of the other priority pass lounges across the world. Overall, it's not a place to grab a full meal if you are heading out on a business-class flight, but acceptable for a snack.
Hot dishes were also readily available and always kept stocked. However, seeing as Garuda Indonesia has some of the best food in the world, I decided not to eat in the lounge and save myself for the lounge.
The drink selection at the Marhaba Lounge is definitely above adequate in comparison to other lounges. Soft drinks are available, as well as water, coffee, and all of the basics.
The wine selection was also top-notch. I consider The Chocolate Block to be a decent wine. Especially when comparing it with the likes of some other flagship lounges, The Chocolate Block is a lot better than most other business-class lounges.
Beer on tap is present, and there is a minor selection of liquors with all of your basics, such as vodka, rum, gins, and cocktails. Scotch seems to be popular in a lot Asian countries that I have visited.
Amenities
Free Wi-Fi is available throughout your stay in the lounge. The password is displayed at the front or at select locations around the lounge. In terms of amenities, that is pretty much it, bar a few toilets.
The toilets are located near the entrance and has a womens and mens room.
And that's pretty much it, sadly.
Final Thoughts
The Marhaba lounge has a couple of nice aspects to it, but it certainly isn't worth coming to the airport early to relax in this lounge. The bad aspects consist of no showers, a lackluster food selection, and a relatively small space. However, the Marhaba lounge is clean and modern, and it has a decent wine selection. Albeit, no champagne: BOOOO!
