New LAX Metro Station Finally Open!

Intro
Without a doubt, Los Angeles International Airport might be one of the worst-designed airports in the world during peak hours. If you've been, you've seen how it can take an hour to get inside of the airport, and even then, it's bloody expensive.
Well, there is a new development, as you can finally take the metro into LAX, sort of.
The Details
As of June 6th, 2025, Los Angeles has opened up its new metro station, offering seamless connections to those looking to head to the second-largest airport in the United States. However, it is not all good news yet.
At the moment, those choosing to take the C or K metro trains will be dropped off at the new metro station right outside of the airport (about 2 miles away), and from there, the company will offer free shuttle buses to the terminals.

There is just one issue, though; it might save on cost, but it doesn't save on traffic. However, it seems like this is just phase one, as going forward, there will be automatic people movers to and from the terminals to help with the process come 2026.
My Thoughts
There is a lot of chat about this online from many news agencies and travel blogs, and while on paper I am excited by this, I personally wouldn't go out of my way to use it unless I lived by a metro station in the first place.

LAX has long been an issue, and there are plans to improve the airport going forward (let's see if that happens), but the problem doesn't just lie with the airport here; it lies with the city. Think about when you are in New York: hop on the subway to Penn Station, NJ Transit, and then the air train. It's all quite simple. But most people in LA don't live near a subway station, so that gets replaced with an Uber or another mode of driving, bringing the cost up.
Rant over.
Final Thoughts
Those looking to head over to Los Angeles International Airport will be happy to know that a new public transport option is available. While it is currently just a shuttle bus coming and going from the new metro terminal, this is just phase one. Come 2026, automated people movers will be taking passengers both ways.
If they really wanted it to do well, there would be a separate traffic line for buses...
