Intro
A couple of months ago, I had the privilege to visit Tripoli and the surrounding UNESCO World Heritage sites for a period of time, and simply fell in love with the country. Without doubt, Libya became my favorite country that sits on the Mediterranean Ocean, miles above the likes of Greece or Italy.
With so much hope being gained in the past few years in the country, it's such a shame what has taken place in the last 4-5 days in the country. My heart breaks for the people of Libya.
This Is Tragic
After almost a decade of violent conflict, Libya once again got to a place that was not just infinitely safer, but much more peaceful on a day-to-day basis. However, for those who don't know what is going on, supposedly the militia leader Abdel Ghani al-Kikli was assassinated, and this meant armed conflict had broken out.

Now, I don't ever really touch on stuff like this, but I was talking with a friend in Tripoli, and he sent me some photos of what the situation is like on the ground at the moment. My heart just breaks for the people of Libya.

My friend has informed me that a curfew has now been implemented, and it has turned into an active warzone on the ground. To say the people are worried is an understatement, and I pray that this conflict de-escalates instead of escalating. Heartbreaking.
If you are planning a trip to this beautiful country, now is the time to hold off on it, and that is coming from me...
Final Thoughts
After almost a decade of violence across Libya, and another few years of relative peace, the future of peace in Libya is currently hanging by a thread. I'm not here to talk about Politics, I am just here to mention that my heart is with the people of Libya, and I hope/pray that this gets better soon. What a beautiful country.
