Intro
If you have been following this blog (or might like not following it for a while) you might have noticed that the writing had dried up for about 10 days.
Well, I apologize. Through the past 10 days, it has been extremely hectic with exorbitantly slow wifi to the point where Instagram would barely load. Additionally, I had the opportunity to spend some time with my mum which was nice.
However, it has been such an amazing trip overall! Starting tomorrow, I’ll pick up the series from Afghanistan where the last post I made was the Kam Air review.
Seychelles
Following Afghanistan, it was time to head off on the more “luxury” part of the trip. It started off with Emirates First Class from Dubai to Mahe which was nothing short of exceptional. Truly a top-class product with an amazing cabin crew (more on that soon).

Once landing, the Seychelles was so special. We spent a night on the mainland at a hotel named L’Escal in which we were upgraded to a beautiful 2 bedroom villa by this lovely woman named Peggy. What a way to start the trip!

Feeling rested, we headed off to the Four Seasons Desroches, which is a beautiful property but sadly let me down with mostly* bad service. Don’t get me wrong, this might be one of the most beautiful properties in the world, but the service didn’t feel personalized. I digress, having a runway inside the hotel was so cool though!

Madagascar
Relaxed and ready to go, me and my mum headed back off on the Twin Otter over to Mahe before connecting on once again, Emirates First Class over to Antananarivo.

Madagascar was one of the coolest places I have visited, and while I don’t want to spoil too much, we visited the lemurs, explored the biggest slum, and a local house, and drank plenty of the local beer: THB.

However, we also headed to Nossi Be to stay at one of the nicest villas in the world (in my humble opinion). Looking online, I found this lovely villa for 496$ per night, which was frankly incredible.

I mean, for the total cost, we had unbelievable views over the ocean, 7 staff members, 2 masseuses, and private chefs. I’ve stayed in a lot of incredible places in the world, but this one might take the medal for being the best-ever stay. WOW!
The Way Back:
And a few days ago, the travel back to Los Angeles began. Now this is a flight series that I am extremely excited to share.
It was a combination of Star Alliance carriers for the journey back. It started with a fantastic flight on the Ethiopian Airlines 737 Max 8 in economy, followed by a sadly* disappointing flight onboard Ethiopian Business Class on the A350-1000 (more on that today and a review coming very soon).

With a delayed arrival (for no reason) it was a rush to make it onboard Air Canada to Montreal and then over to Los Angeles. Once again, I found Air Canada to be good, but not great. The 787 is certainly better than the A330, let’s just say that.

Final Thoughts
Firstly, my apologies once again, but the wifi was just simply horrific in the places that I went and if I am going to post about these places, I would love to really encapture the moment. Starting tomrorrow, we will pick up after landing in Kabul, but I will be posting an initial thoughts today of the Ethiopian Airlines A350-1000 as an added bonus!
