Intro
Are you really a frequent flyer if you have never had someone come up to you and ask if they can swap their middle seat in the back of economy for your nice aisle seat? Well, over the years, we have seen some pretty absurd requests, but there is a story going viral about one of the nicest seat swap stories I have ever heard.
The Details
There is a story going around of a man named Ben, who was flying First Class on the Emirates Game Changer product from Chicago to Dubai. Upon boarding, he noticed that a note had been left on his seat. Not by the crew, not by the ground staff, but by another passenger in First Class.
The note stated a request for a seat swap, with zero pressure whatsoever. The family traveling even mapped out a digram showing why it would be in the best interest for everyone, and honestly, they had a point.

Needless to say, the man accepted the change of seating, because honestly, who wouldn't under those circumstances? Heck, I might have even moved back to business if that's where they were sitting 😂.
My Thoughts
For starters, I just want to say that something like this would only ever work in premium cabins. Usually, back in economy, it's a little chaotic and the note would probably get lost.
However, this doesn't mean that we can't be more kind when it comes to seat swaps. If you really do want a seat swap, ask very kindly, and don't come in thinking that person is obligated to swap seats with you, just like this family did above.
However, if you are in a product that is a 1-2-1 configuration in business or first, I highly recommend implementing this tactic when it comes to asking for a seat swap. A little kindness and effort go a long way in life.
Final Thoughts
A man traveling in Emirates First Class from Chicago to Dubai received one of the nicest notes we have ever seen on the internet, asking for a seat swap. Mapping out a whole diagram, this family went above and beyond, without bothering the passenger. I highly recommend putting in some effort like this family did if you really want that seat swap.
