Delta One Seattle Lounge Now Open!

Intro

Over the past few years, we have finally seen Delta bring about its Flagship Lounge experience, as the airline had lagged behind both American and United Airlines on this front.

While we have seen beautiful Delta One lounges open up in Boston, New York, and Los Angeles, the fourth addition to their network is finally open, and looks beautiful!

The Details

As of June 26th, 2024, those ticketed in “business” class on a long-haul flight on either LATAM, Delta, KLM, Air France, and Korean Air (full access rules here) will be able to use the new Delta One Lounge at Seattle.

Open from 8:30 am to 8:00 pm daily, the lounge holds host for up to 221 guests, spanning over 10,000 square feet, making it about the same size as the Delta One Lounge at LAX. Pictures have come out online, and it looks beautiful. No other words to describe it.

  • The new Delta One Lounge is located next door to the new Sky Club, on the fourth level of the terminal. This is important to know as the new Delta One Lounge does not have showers (or a “spa” for that matter) and thus, those looking to use a shower will have to head across to the Sky Club.

  • The main focus of this lounge, along with the other lounges, is on the food. Serving three-course menus, passengers are treated to an array of options ranging from wood-fired teriyaki steelhead to yellowtail crudo, and much more. Additionally, a rumour has been floating around about caviar, but that has yet to be confirmed.

  • Lastly, about 1/3 of the lounge's space is located on a terrace overlooking Mt Ranier. While I imagine this is quite peaceful to dine, it goes to show how small the lounge is inside…

My Thoughts

This looks like a really nice space as a whole. While on the smaller side, and with Delta expanding into Europe from Seattle coming up, I would imagine that the peak departure periods will make this lounge quite busy. But the food, the design, and the views are simply magical…

Alaska and Delta are going head to head in Seattle, and while AS has some good lounges, they won't compete with Delta One Lounges...

However, I think from a business standpoint, this had to be done sooner rather than later as Delta seeks to control the market in Seattle after Alaska merged with Hawaiian. Offering a top-tier lounge like the Delta One Lounge is bound to bring in more passengers, especially when the Alaska Lounges are nowhere near as nice… (acceptable for US routes, but not flagship business)

Final Thoughts

Delta Airlines has finally opened up its fourth Delta One Lounge in Seattle, and it might just be the most beautiful of them all. With a lovely terrace, fantastic food (from the pictures), and seating for over 200 guests, this should be a tantalizing lounge to spend some time in. The only caveats are that the showers are located in the Sky Club, and there is no wellness area…

Overall, I have to say that the pictures above make it seem that it might become the best business class lounge in the United States. I am trying to find a way to check it out, but only time will tell if I can route through there before my trip to Russia 🇷🇺
