Intro
An interesting yet scary event took place today in Denver International Airport, as a plane caught fire after landing. While everyone is alright (thank the heavens), and the media is blowing aviation safety out of proportion, there is one thing that caught my eye...
The Details
Earlier today, March 13th, 2025, American Airlines flight 1006 was scheduled to operate from Colorado Springs to Dallas Fort Worth when the plane ended up diverting to Denver due to "engine vibrations". The 737 MAX 8 landed safely in Denver, and then apparently, "Flight 1006 experienced an engine issue".
While I am sure this will be looked at in more detail going forwards, it is good to know that all 172 customers and six crew members are safe for the time being.
The pictures make this incident look extremely scary, and I cannot imagine how it must have felt to be onboard thinking you are going to get off the plane through the jetbridge, only to be stranded out on the wing...

Carry-Ons People...
What do airlines preach non-stop in case of an emergency? To the point where it is engraved in your head? Leave your carry-ons inside of the aircraft and evacuate the aircraft when given instruction to...
So, for the life of me, I cannot understand why so many people have their carry-on bags as if they are going to Whole Foods to go shopping... Seriously people, when one's life is in danger, does 1000$ odd dollars really matter that much?
Final Thoughts
An American Airlines 737 Max 8 operating a flight from Colorado Springs to Dallas decided to divert to Denver due to an engine issue. Upon arriving in Denver at the gate, one of the engines seemingly caught fire causing an emergency evacuation. While all 172 passengers and six crew members are safe, I cannot understand why people are standing on the wing with their carry-ons...
